The first teeth that puppies get in are the canine teeth, which begin poking out at around 3 to 4 weeks of age. At this stage puppy teeth will grow, shed and grow again, during this time it’s always good to be prepared. Here a few tips to help you.

First Step?  – Try giving your pup a large carrot to chew on when the teething begins, to help relieve sore gums they get with teething. Freeze a wet “rope toy,” as this will ease the pain of teething with a cooling effect on the gums.

Let Him Have Fun –  Teething and a constant stream of chew toys can bore your pup, to avoid this and to avoid him chewing on things he is not suppose to, let him have plenty of playtime and exercise. A stimulated dog is a happy dog!

What Toys ?–  Toys are fine for pups when they are teething, in fact it is encouraged as i mentioned above, just make sure you give your pup safe toys to chew on. Never give them toys that pieces could be chewed off and swallowed.

Puppy proof home – To help the pup from chewing on items you don’t want him to chew on, keep things picked up. Especially small items he could swallow.
